Family Ministries

Building a strong Christian community while ministering to individuals and families are an important foundation at Montgomery UMC. Several annual events take place including:
• Fall Festival
The kick-off to the fall season, our festival serves up great food and fun for all ages... moon bounces, face painting, games, and music along with our Ministry Fair highlighting all the programs offered at Montgomery UMC.
• Cabin Fever Festival
• Summer Picnic

Women’s Ministries

Women’s Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30am
Women’s Bible study meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
The Heritage Circle meets monthly.
PSA (Prayer, Study and Action) group meets monthly.
The “Sisters In Faith” Conference will be held at Montgomery UMC in March 2010.

Men’s Ministries

Men’s Breakfast
A fellowship time for men takes place every third Saturday morning at 7:37 am in the Fellowship Hall. This monthly breakfast meeting includes Bible study, discussion of current issues, and special speakers.
Hands In Ministry (HIM) in coordination with the Men's Lifeboat Class provides support to single mothers and senior citizens, especially those folks who are challenged in the areas of home and auto repairs.

Children’s Ministries

We have several programs for children throughout the year including:
• W@M’s clubs and activities
• Fitness camps in the summer
• Children’s Choirs and hand bell groups

Cherub Choir

The Cherub Choir of MUMC meets on Wednesday evenings and follows the Wednesday night (W@M) schedule 9 weeks in the fall of the year and 9 weeks in the winter. The Cherub Choir meets from 6:15 to 6:45 P.M. in the chapel to the right of the main entrance doors of the Church. Singing is a portion of our time together as well as the introduction to playing hand chimes. Cherubs are ages three through second grade. Youngsters are welcome to join the choir at any time. We sing on Christmas, Palm Sunday, and sing and ring once a month at worship celebrations during the time we meet for rehearsals. We are excited to praise God with music. We ring bells sometimes with our singing; we play the hand chimes; and we begin to learn musical notes, how they sound, and timing. In many cases this is the first opportunity to stand before a congregation and lead worship. The children respond with much enthusiasm. Joyce W. Rhodes, Director

Vacation Bible School

In the summer, children 3 years old and up are
invited to join us for a week of Vacation Bible
School. VBS classes meet from 9:00am to
noon and provide a time of singing, snacks,
crafts, recreation and the study of God’s Word.
