(Montgomery United Methodist Youth)

  • MUMYouth is made up of an active and involved group of leaders and teens (a Middle High group - grades 6 to 8 and a Senior High group - grades 9 to 12)
  • Regular meetings take place on Sunday afternoons – time varies with the activity that is planned. 
  • Some highlights of planned activities include: Youth Alumni Homecoming Party, Confirmation, concerts, Teen Mania Acquire the Fire, Youth For Christ Impact and Alive retreats, Baltimore Blast, trips to Epicenter, charity fundraisers, service projects such as Rebuilding Together and Workcamp and much more…

Montgomery Methodist Children's Center

The Children’s Center is an accredited preschool for children ages 3-5 and Kindergarten. Sessions of 20 hours are offered in combinations of 2, 3, 4, and 5 days a week. Tuition is charged. Contact the school directly at (301) 253-4884.

Christian Education

Sunday School for Children and Youth
9:30 - 10:45 am
Graded classes are available for ages 2 through grade 12 with infant nursery care provided.

Adult Education
9:30 - 10:30 am
Ongoing classes and a variety of quarterly electives are offered each week. Topics include such things as: studies on individual books of the Bible, faith issues (spiritual gifts, discipleship, contentment, etc.), and life issues (marriage, stress, parenting, etc.). Current class listings are posted in the lobby of both the sanctuary and education wings.

The Men’s Lifeboat Class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in the Memorial Room.                     

W@M (Wednesday at Montgomery)
Come join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 pm during the spring and fall months for our adult Bible study classes, and activities and music for all ages of children, including a Challenger Club for youth. To ease the burden of preparing a meal– come and have dinner and a time of fellowship with us, which starts at 5:30 pm and continues until 6:30 pm. The price is $5.00 per person or $20.00 for a family. It is buffet style so you are never late.

Confirmation Classes
Youth in grades 8 and up are invited to join in the Confirmation Journey in preparation for full membership within Montgomery United Methodist Church. Each youth is paired with a dedicated mentor from the congregation for spiritual, enrichment and friendship. Confirmation activities are coordinated by the Pastor, the Youth Coordinator and the Christian Education Director.

Bible Study Small Groups
Various small group Bible studies are available, meeting at different times. Some meet in the church building or in homes; some are for women only, men only, or couples. Study groups meet for a few months up to a few years - depending on the needs and interests of the group.
